Description

Pure 1,3-dimethoxybenzene is colorless and transparent liquid, mp.-52℃, b.p.216.5~217.7℃, relative density 1.0705(4℃), insoluble in water, can mix with alcohol, benzene, ether, chloroform Miscible. 1,3-Dimethoxybenzene is an intermediate for the synthesis of the acaricide benzite, and can also be used to prepare the UV absorber ChemicalbookUV-9. It is used as an intermediate for naphthalene dyes and coatings and plastics, and as a fragrance for soaps, detergents and ointments. It is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. It is used as an organic synthesis intermediate, and undergoes a F-gram reaction with benzoyl chloride under the catalysis of aluminum trichloride to obtain 2,4-dimethoxybenzophenone. This is an intermediate for the UV absorber UV-9.
