Description

Colorless and transparent liquid with the fragrance of chili orchid. The boiling point is 173°C (1.6kPa), the relative density is 1.2614 (20/4°C), and the refractive index is 1.5080. Insoluble in water, soluble in ether, acetic acid, soluble in ethanol, acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents. There are many varieties of salicylates that belong to spices, among which the most commonly used are methyl salicylate, isoamyl salicylate and benzyl salicylate.
