Description

2,2′-Bis(diphenylphosphine)-1,1′-binaphthyl and its rhodium and ruthenium derivatives can be used as highly selective homogeneous catalysts for aryl ketones, β-ketoesters and α- Reduction of aminoketones. It can also be used for the asymmetric hydrogenation and hydroformylation of olefins, the Heck reaction and the asymmetric isomerization of allyl groups. Ligands for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric tandem Heck reactions, a carbanion-trapping process for the synthesis of tricyclic sesquiterpenes. It can also be used in ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated acids.
