Description

Calcium propionate is a safe and reliable food and feed mildew inhibitor approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Calcium propionate, like other fats in Chemicalbook, can be absorbed by humans and animals through metabolism, and supply necessary calcium for humans and animals. This advantage is unmatched by other antifungal agents and is considered GRAS. Calcium propionate is a relatively new food antifungal agent. It is the calcium salt of the acidic antifungal agent propionic acid. The appearance is white crystal or powder, odorless or slightly odorless. It is stable to light and heat, and has hygroscopicity. Easily soluble in water, the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, insoluble in benzene and acetone.
