Description

Hexythiazox is a growth regulator of thiadiazine insects, with high selectivity, strong contact killing effect, and stomach poisoning effect. It also has persistent larvicidal activity against some coleopteran pests and mites. It can effectively control planthoppers and leafhoppers on rice, leafhoppers on tea, potatoes, whiteflies on citrus, vegetables, shield scales and mealybugs on citrus. According to domestic research, it has a certain systemic effect on rice plants. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit insect chitin synthesis and interfere with metabolism, resulting in nymphs failing to molt, or molting deformed, or eclosion deformity and slow death. It has high nymphicidal activity. Generally recommended doses do not kill adults directly, but reduce egg laying, reduce egg hatchability and shorten their lifespan. Generally, the effect can be seen 3 to 7 days after the application. It has no direct lethality to the adults, but it can shorten its lifespan and reduce the number of eggs laid. Most of the eggs produced are sterile, and the larvae die quickly even if they hatch. It has good control effect on Hemiptera planthoppers, leafhoppers, whiteflies and scale insects, and the effective period is more than 30 days. Safer to natural enemies, hexythiazox has no cross-resistance problem with other insecticides, and the comprehensive effect is good. The effect of the drug is slow, and the pest damage can be controlled 3 to 7 days after application. When the density of insect population is high, it should be mixed with quick-acting agents.
