On the evening of the 17th, Anada (002136) released an investment announcement. The company's board of directors reviewed and approved the proposal, agreeing for its wholly-owned subsidiary Tongling Huatai New Energy Materials Co., Ltd. to invest in the construction of an integrated project with an annual output of 300,000 tons of battery-grade ferrous phosphate. The total investment of the project is 3.298 billion yuan, with an overall construction cycle of 18 months, located in the Western Park of Tongling Economic and Technological Development Zone, Anhui.

Massive production capacity scale, synchronous upgrade of dual main lines

This integrated project covers two core production units, equipped with complete public utilities, environmental protection, and auxiliary facilities: construction of a new 300,000 tons/year battery-grade ferrous phosphate unit and a 150,000 tons/year rutile titanium dioxide unit.

After the completion of the project, the company's total titanium dioxide production capacity will expand from the existing 100,000 tons/year to 250,000 tons/year, while simultaneously adding a brand-new capacity of 300,000 tons/year of battery-grade ferrous phosphate, achieving a leap in dual-line production capacity for traditional chemicals and lithium battery new energy materials.

The project implementation entity, Tongling Huatai, is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Anada. It is mainly engaged in new material technology R&D, fine chemical product production and sales, and possesses complete qualifications and industrial supporting capabilities for project implementation and operation.

Unique co-production model, achieving high-value utilization of by-product resources

Relying on its own titanium dioxide industry base, Anada adopts the titanium dioxide-ferrous phosphate co-production process for this project, efficiently converting the ferrous sulfate heptahydrate by-product generated during the titanium dioxide production process into high value-added battery-grade ferrous phosphate.

This model significantly reduces raw material procurement and production costs, achieves waste recycling and green, low-carbon production. It is a typical advantageous path for titanium dioxide enterprises to cross over into lithium battery materials, possessing strong cost barriers and synergistic effects.

Optimization of equity structure, Wanhua takes control to empower industrial upgrading

In 2024, the battery technology company under Wanhua Chemical became Anada's controlling shareholder, providing strong support for the company's technological iteration, channel expansion, and industrial chain integration.

As a titanium dioxide enterprise that laid out in the lithium battery track relatively early in China, Anada relies on its original chemical production, purification, and process control experience, possessing natural advantages in ferrous phosphate product quality, cost control, and large-scale production. This significant expansion marks the company's full acceleration in its transformation to a dual-main business of new energy lithium battery materials + high-end fine chemicals.

Project Value

The implementation of this integrated project will further amplify the advantages of the company's circular economy model, improve the upstream production capacity layout of lithium battery cathode materials, and deeply bind to the needs of the power battery and energy storage industrial chains. Against the backdrop of intensifying industry production capacity competition, relying on co-production cost advantages and the support of Wanhua's industrial resources, Anada is expected to continuously improve the market competitiveness of its ferrous phosphate products and open up room for medium-to-long-term performance growth.
