Description

P-Toluene sulfonamide (tosmic, toluenesulfonylmethyl isocyanide), a molecular-type CH3C6H4SO2CH2NC, is an organic compound whose molecule contains two functional groups of sulfonyl and nitrile radicals. It is a colorless solid and, unlike most policeman was stationed, is tasteless. It is prepared by dehydration of the corresponding formamide derivative. The reagent can be used in Van Leusen reaction (English: Van Leusen reaction) to convert aldehyde to nitrile and some possible reactions to the preparation of the ribavirin and imidazole through a ring.
