The new compound 1,6-naphthopyridin-5(6H)-one contains both pyridinenaphthalene ring and active N-H in its molecular structure, which can be further derivatized into other functional groups. The naphthopyridine ring exists as an active functional group in biological enzymes such as Chemicalbook anti-nucleotide receptor reagents and glycogen synthase inhibitor molecules. Therefore, 1,6-naphthopyridin-5(6H)-one can be used as a potential active functional group and will be gradually applied to the synthesis of new drugs.
