Description

The dried buds or newly opened flowers of the honeysuckle family. Also known as honeysuckle flower, egret flower, honeysuckle, double flower, two flower, golden vine flower, double bud flower, golden flower, two treasure flower, Zi wind vine, tea flower. Born in hills, valleys, forest edges, hedges, wild or cultivated, often as a garden circle ornamental shade plant. It is distributed in most parts of China. Mainly produced in Henan, Shandong. Those produced in Henan are called "South honeysuckle", and those produced in Shandong are called "East honeysuckle" or "East honeysuckle". Climbing shrub, 3-6 m long. Young branches densely puberulent and glandular. Leaves opposite, pedicellate; Leaf blade broadly lanceolate or elliptic, 3~8 cm long and 2~4 cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded, entire margin. Flowers in pairs in leaf axils; Bracteoles 1 pair, foliate, bracteoles free; Calyx tube glabrous, calyx teeth 5, apex hairy; Corolla tubular, 3~4 cm long, first white and then light yellow, aromatic, lip-shaped, upper lip 4-lobed upright, lower lip inverted; Stamen 5. Berries spherical, black. Flowering period from May to August, fruit period from August to September.
