Description

Vat blue 6 is blue powder, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in heat, chloroform, o-chlorophenol, hot pyridine. It turns brown in concentrated sulfuric acid and turns blue after dilution. It is reduced to a leuco with an alkaline reducing solution, which is green and blue, and when acid is added, it becomes red and blue. Vat blue BC is used for dyeing cotton, viscose fiber, silk, vinylon and printing cotton, with good levelness and affinity. It is also used in the dyeing of viscose and cotton blended fabrics, and in the preparation of organic pigments.
